Really depends on type of driving, i.e., hauling and towing, highway versus city. Mine uses the most when towing or hauling loads. I drove 600 miles this past weekend, towing a 98 Dodge Ram pickup on a 20' trailer, went from close to full to a quarter in 900 miles, 2.5 gals of DEF filled it back up. When daily driver back and forth to work, probably go 2k miles before hit drops quarter of a tank.
Your experience sounds normal. If concerned, just take a 2.5 gal jug with you, for peace of mind.
