Prodigy P3 brake controller, or factory set up?

So I already have a Prodigy P3 brake controller that I just took off my 1500 Ram before I sold it. I pick up new truck tonight. For those that tow a lot, would you recommend using the Prodigy, or stick with the factory set up. Hoping factory is just as good, because would rather not drill new holes inside truck and mount the Prodigy. Then I can sell it too.

I was in exactly the same situation. Had a Prodigy P3 that I took off of my previous truck and was debating whether to us it in the Ram or not. Thought I'd give the built in controller a try. That was 2 years ago and I've never even considered installing the P3. The P3 was a great controller, but the built in is, in my opinion, better.

I tow 20,000 pound RV i have the OEM factory one i have it set on heavy Electric/Hydraulic brake and 7.5, works excellent i also like how it keeps track of the miles your putting on each different trailer your towing. On my small 16' duall axle trailer i set it on light electric and 5 or 6 and works great also.

TBC update number

Mt 2016 DRW 3500 has always had terrible OEM trailer brakes. I have had in to the dealer twice but they say it's ok. I would like to update the TBC with this new upgrade but my dealer doesn't seem to know anything about it. Do you have the upgrade number that I could get them to use on my truck?. Thanks Terry
