Need tow mirrors that stick out 5 feet, HEHEHE!

. This 60 year old Grandpa has been around long enough to see a lot of fads come and go by but what's this new childish "Towing Mirrow" club I've been reading about. You mean to tell me if I don't have mirrors that jut out into the next lane I would not be accepted into today's society of pickup truck owners.j Give me a break, and what's this crap about driving with your mirrors up or down?
I just ordered a 2017 Ram 2500 Cummins, my first diesel and guess what, I didn't get those moose antler mirrors simply because I didn't need them because I don't tow.
OMG, how am I going to make it through the rest of my life without them. I'll leave this to the younger generation who feel a need to fit in at any cost.

Well, I use my tow mirrors each time I hook to my 35' corn pro trailer. I love seeing my load from all sides, and under the trailer as well. I also have a 2007 Duramax dually that does not have tow mirrors, and I hate using it to tow with because of the limited vision. Im a safety type person.

What gets me, is the crap about leaving them flipped up when not towing. I do leave mine flipped up because I hate trying to adjust the blindspot portion when I move them. I get them set to my liking, and leave them. I tow a trailer more often than not, so I never know when I would be adjusting.

You may not want them, but anyone who uses the truck to tow, or a mall crawler brodozer will want them.
On another note, probably the first person I've met that thinks smaller mirrors are better.
Even my wife's been bitsching for 5 years now about the little mirrors on her car. Cant see shizz.
She can stick the Mega cab backwards into a compact car parking spot dead on, first whack, and neither of us can put the car in a parking spot backing in fist try cause you cant see anything.

Did your choice of mirror really need to be a new thread?

I tend to agree with the OP.
I do not understand why one would need their mirrors out 18" from the side of their truck if they are not towing, or recently towed. I see some trucks that have not ever been hooked to a trailer with their arms stretched out wide like they want to hug something. But then again, I do not understand the need of a 6" lift so they can drive around town....

Just my opinion....

I ride tow mirrors out, because I hate the trying to take people out with the blindspot created with the convex mirror in the outside location. Also hook to a trailer from time to time.

Also it just looks badass..... :

Actually, if you ditched the old man camper shell, the brodozer guys (and their shotgun ridin' bro ho's) would probably let you roll with them......

LOL, sorry about starting a new thread on this but jeez. I totally understand about the need to have tow mirrors. I would have gotten them if I needed them. It's just that I've heard stories that people's mirrors were messed with by strangers when the owner wasn't around by flipping them up or down. Is it that important to them? 😊
