After market intake 2012 6.7

New to the forum but looking to upgrade my intake. Will it help with fuel mileage?

Not really, better to spend that money on tuning.

I agree. The oem intake is a great design.

It'll look cool. that's about it. factory intake is good to high HP #s. Factory intake is also a cold air intake design. Stay away from K&N filters for it. No intake will increase HP or MPG by any measurable amount on one of these trucks in stock, or near stock form. But if you want it to look cool, the S&B looks better then factory. that's all it does though

2012 MCSB DRW 3500 Laramie Longhorn, EFI Live By ANARCHY Diesel, 4" flopro turbo back with muffler, S&B air box and filter, Edge Insight CTS2, 2" HBS level, Bilstein 5100s in all 4 corners with steering stabilizer, PacBrake Airbags, GDP Fuel Filter under the hood, Supernova V3 LED headlights and my EGR stuff ran away, lemme know if you find it

Not that this alone could justify spending $300-$400 on an intake, but with certain brands like the aforementioned S&B. The clear inspection window can help guy maintain the filter better. Like maybe for a period of time you were in a pretty dusty environment and the filter would need to be changed sooner than at the regular interval. Ya know the whole outta sight, outta mind thing.

Some will accuse me of being a Banks fan, but I am a fan of testing and data...I wouldn't say it will help milage, but data shows there is an increase in torque and power with intake and exhaust...

Have been noticing water temp increase up to 215 pulling a load up hills. Fan clutch coming on and temp goes back down to around 195. Normal? Or maybe water pump or thermostat going out! 182k miles.
