Trip from new york to california

Hey everyone! Just got some good news about finally taking a trip. I wish I didn't swap my gears 1300 miles ago but here we are about to go 3000 more, wish me luck. 2 years ago I took a trip to Oklahoma, everything went smooth other than a couple gas stations that made me want to put in 10$ and keep moving on a few more miles.....but I'm actually going to go all the way to Los Angeles next week. Does anyone have some tips on what....or where to avoid along the way? Also interested in some places that you just have to stop and see.

I would stop at the Grand Canyon if you haven't seen it. Everyone should see it once. I'm sure there are tons of places and hopefully others will chime in. Good luck and safe trip

I've got two routes in mind going New York Pennsylvania Ohio Indiana Illinois Iowa Nebraska Colorado Utah Nevada California or New York Pennsylvania Ohio Indiana Illinois Missouri oklahoma Texas new Mexico Arizona California. I only swapped the rear axle gears so far...so in 2wd I know I have to avoid snow

The Texas to California route is something to behold. We witnessed mother nature in her glory in the desert. Sand storms, torrential down pours, crazy lightning etc. All set on the back drop of the desert mountain ranges. I loved it. And there is a jerky store on the 10 in Arizona, name is escaping me, but I'll remember at some point, that is beyond worth stopping at. We went to San Diego, and man, the drive in there is a doozy. Definitely glad to have an exhaust brake there

do you have pets? are you hotelling it?
i recommend I40 i've been from Bangor Maine, to LA, (honey moon) anyhow, Motel 6 and La quinta are pet friendly.
once in AZ Sedona is a popular spot to stop, as is the grand canyon,
on the way home, go from flagstaff toward CO, go through the painted desert, through CO, check out Ouray, Silverton, maybe the hot springs in Pagosa springs.

the drive from TX west leave a little to be desired, its.. not green. per say, but still interesting.

either way, enjoy. did i read it correctly you just installed 4.56 gears? and a G56? ouch... slow going...
