Need a transmission Mechanic in Mount Pleasant ASAP!!

I'm in Mount Plesant TX for business and my transmission just gave out. I have fluid coating the passenger side fender well and under the hood. It will still engage into drive but reverse it won't do anything. Any help is greatly appreciative. I'm in a big bind here

So did it blow fluid out of the dipstick tube? Or do you have a leak in one of the cooler lines? Does the fluid (in the trans) smell burnt, or is it black? In Drive, does it shift normally through the gears, or do you just have one or two gears? Is the CEL on? Any idea what transmission fault(s) you have? What model year truck is it?

Forgot to mention: Step one is to check the fluid level (idling in Park) and make sure it is within a reasonable range.

I have a 2007.5 with the 6.7. Checked the fluid after it leaked the first time it was low so I added more. I still can't find the leak so it's possible it's the cooler line. The fluid smells both burnt and has a black tint in it. It shifted fine through all the gears before I parked it. Had a little trouble actually starting to roll from a dead stop. It hasn't thrown any codes either. Not sure how to check if the CEL is on or not

CEL = Check Engine Light (also known as the MIL or Malfunction Indicator Light)

OK, so no CEL and no faults. That is good. You'll need to find and fix the cooler line leak (or keep adding trans fluid as you drive). And now, you say it has no reverse, but forward gears are OK. I would suspect a burned (or leaking) LR clutch, or Reverse input clutch. Try this: Put it in Drive (at a stop), then tap the ERS (-) switch to put it in "1" (manual 1st gear). Then accelerate gently up to some fairly high engine speed (2000 RPM or more). Then lift foot and see whether engine speed stays high (with engine braking, as if you had a manual transmission with the clutch still engaged), or if the engine drops back to idle speed. If the engine drops back to idle right away (while you're still rolling at about the same speed), your LR clutch isn't working. You will also probably blow a P0731 (Gear Ratio Error in 1st), but you can just clear that fault and ignore it.

So try that and then post your results. We'll take it from there....

Okay I am at work right now but as soon as I get off I will try. Something I failed to mention is the past few weeks I noticed it would surge sometimes at a red light while in drive, if I would put my truck in neutral or park the surging would stop. Idk if that has anything to do with the transmission or not just seems odd that it just started doing it and now it its broke.

The surging at a light, would that feel like the trans was slipping, or momentarily going into Neutral and then re-engaging, or would it feel more like the truck was trying to take off on its own and you'd have to mash the brake to hold it?

Either way, I'm not sure it would be related to your no-reverse condition (I can't think of any direct relationship). So offhand, I'd say probably not related, but it still seems curious....

Would almost be along the same type as if the grid heater would be engaging and dis-engaging, which seeing how that is all gone its pretty unlikely that's what caused it. That's why I didn't think it was related. I have had problem with this pos since I got it rebuilt with what seemed like the clutches were slipping shifting into 6th gear at high acceleration rates and then if I'm on the interstate and have to get on it to pass some one the Torque converter would feel as if it didn't know if it was supposed to stay locked or unlocked. I've brought it back to them many times and just got off the phone with them so they can "look for my ticket"
