As we all know, there are individuals charging for the Smarty ME tunes now (eBay and TGDP site) so I decided to put them out there for everyone to access for free.

If you need help loading, updating or have questions regarding tuning you can call Mads, post for help on this forum, the DTR forum, the TDR forum or the Smartysupport.com site (The powers that be at Mads has elected to shutdown the Smartyresource.com site) and we'll give you all the help you need.

My thanks to everyone that stepped up and shared the tunes I was missing. If anyone has tunes that are not on the sites please pm me and I'll gladly add them for everyone to use.

4/23/16 UPDATE: Since the free site I was using to host the links went belly up I came up with a different way for everyone to have easy access to them. The links below will take you to a model year page. Just click on your model year and it will take you to the corresponding tunes. From there you select the tune you want (oldest tune at the top of the list and newest tune at the bottom of the list) and it takes you to the download link where you just select "download" and you're done.
So have at 'em. They're all yours...

Special thanks goes out to N1NJ4ON3R for helping me test the tune links above.
thx again, dan

I downloaded the latest tune for each unit, j67 and s67 cause i don't know which one ill end up with, but do these files just add the ME tune in addition to the tunes already in the tuner like "tow" and "performance" or does it alter all of the preloaded tunes to ME status?

There are usually tunes loaded on the tuners when you get them though there aren't any "base" tunes loaded onto the tuners. Think of them as computers loaded with the operating system (firmware) and the tunes being a data file loaded on them by the owner. The firmware controls the tuner (tuner operation, communication with the ecm and loading of the program onto the ecm) and the file is the program that's loaded onto the ecm during upload.
Each tune (program) either S-67 or J-67 based contains all the programming needed to delete the necessary equipment and the programming that allows you to adjust different parameters (many more on the S-67 than the J-67) and power levels.
Depending on the tune version they also contain tuning improvements to increase engine efficiency and mileage. (That's the reason the newer tunes don't smoke as much)
When you load a new tune onto the tuner you erase the old file/program and replace it with the new one.
Clear as mud huh?

I have used the search button but it didn't answer all my questions.
So..... I bought a new truck (2012 Mega cab, Auto 4x4) and it came with a smarty JR installed the guy said he has it set on stock delete and he has a DPF delete pipe in with no codes, it runs fine, It is the P series so it can do full deletes with a ME file correct ? I used EFI live on my last truck, and would use it again, but i figured if i already have a smarty use it for the time being, I am real familiar with doing deletes just not with a smarty ? The smarty jr directions don't really speak to doing full deletes, I need to get the USB cable for it so i can see what tune it has on it now the previous owner said he thought it was ME but was not sure. Can you guys school me on smarty JR ?
Thank you for your time

It's definitely tuned.

When you plug the tuner into the obd port the current tune will be shown on the screen for a short time.

Any old school printer cable will work to connect the tuner to your computer for updates.

Your tuner is both delete and emissions legal tuning capable so you can have your choice (yes there are some like myself that are legally tuned).
When you load a Smarty ME tune it automatically disables the egr and dpf functions. From there you can remove the exhaust and either remove or keep the egr system in place.

You have 4 power levels to choose from. Stock, economy (40hp), tow (70hp)and performance (100hp). You'll get the best mileage on performance and max timing but its the hardest on the auto trans, manual trans clutch and head gasket.
Mads suggests that the tow (70hp) level is safe for our trucks IF you drive sensibly.
You can also run the performance tuning and set the power on demand (pod) around 85 to decrease the HP level. The advantage to this is you keep the aggressive tuning and fuel mileage while having less power and stress on the engine/trans.

The settings are different for the 4th gens than 3rd gens. You lose the torque management option and under timing management #2 is the greatest advance and decreases with 3 and 4 with 1 being the least, stock like timing.
Max timing gains are the best but if you get a lot of injection rattle you can drop it back to 3.

Besides all this, if you go to the SmartyJr link in the first post you'll find some links at the bottom of the page that will answer all of your questions. There's also a set of delete instructions (not sure if they're completely accurate for the 2010-12 model years) that will describe the delete process thats located just above the tunes.

If you're someone who likes to control more of the trucks tuning then the S67 is a better choice. On it you get more/higher power levels and you can control turbo, rail press and a whole lot more. There's also TnT tunes available for moderately to highly modified trucks that give some serious power increases.

That's about all I've got...

thank you sir very helpfull post, found out i already have the ME file loaded , so besides some playing around i think im good to go, how do i access the power on demand ? do only some years or units come with the POD ?

xcc_rider 12-19-2015 10:58 AM

I just checked and pod isn't available on the 4th gens.
Sorry
