Unhappy Dreaded P0216 Code...

Well...it's happened. After we replaced the lift pump last week, the VP-44 has started to die.

My wife took the truck to the parts house and plugged it into the computer and received the P0216 code.

So the question is, where is the best place to get a new VP-44? We been looking around the internet and just can't seem to decide. Got any ideas? Thanks!

PS - We have no idea which one we need - HR-VP44 or a SO-VP44 or a HO-VP44 - we need some advice on that too.

I have a HR VP-44 from Industrial Injection and they said it gave an extra 100 hp. It runs great! (Industrial Injection Service, Inc. - Salt Lake City, UT)

dont go with the stock ho vp44 it tends to die out alot faster than the so pump and if future performance is in the future id go with a hr vp44 or one of bluechips or Industrial injections rebuilt ones very solid units.

If I remember correctly, if you have a six speed, then it's an HO. If you have an auto or a 5 speed than it's an SO. I've heard that you can not get as much out of an HO with mods, and after you go so far with mods an SO is actually better then the hot rod pump. (So I've heard) Don't know if that's true or not. Maybe fill out your sig. so we can see what you've got and maybe someone with a little more knowledge than me will chime in on what's best.

i also heard that the HR-VP44 wont allow as much hp as the SO-VP44.

Have you already reset the codes to see if they come back?
