Thanks for the info LittleOleHotShotter. Me and a buddy are wanting to start up a hot shot business, but we're unsure as to where to start. We'll be deploying to Iraq early next year, so it'll give us plenty of time to get things straight. We're planning on buying a one ton dually to get started and a trailer. What did you start hauling? Cars seem to be pretty profitable.

I would run frieght if i was on the west side. Good money in either. Buy 4 car trailers. Dont mess with 3's. sooner or later you will figure out the biz and grow. My company should about to be taking off with multiple leasses, ive only been in biz for about a year:thumbsup
Everything you make throw it right back in the company. Live off pennies if need be. Take care of the company and it will take care of you in the long run.
yeah, with a new business always throw the money you make right back at it...my last boss (electrical company) didn't do so, instead used the money to buy his $100k BMW and so on and now he is hurting for money, he is having trouble getting jobs, having trouble paying his guys and right now only has 2 or 3 people working.

Well, i made out on that trailer. Its a 2005 with all the upgrades, got a $2300 air ride and a 91 gal aux fuel/toolbox all for 9000.
Found another deal in NC raliegh, bout to purchase a 2008 kaufman 4 car stacker with all the options for $10k. You can find cheap trailers like this for around 5-8k.
