Ford 6.4L Pulls sled to the end.....

Last night at the local fair they had truck pulls with the big boys and they also let all the daily drivers. Daily drivers went before the big boys....

Anyway there were a couple different classes 5k and under gassers and 7k and above diesels....Well there were quite a few stock pullers and there were a couple beefed up dodges a couple that i know of dyno'd at 450+ HP with twins and bunch of other supporting MODS....They didn't do to bad, then all of a sudden a 08 Ford F-450 with a flatbed on it completely STOCK hooks up and i'm thinking yeah right we'll see how far he goes....He ended up pulling farther than anyone there in that class.....I was AMAZED.....Couldn't believe it.......Still don't understand how he did it but it was pretty cool to see STOCK truck go that far....Just though i would share

Pulling is not always a horsepower game.

After watching it go down the track like it did....I would say he did really well due to the TRACTION he was getting.....Didn't spin as much as the other guys did.

At a pull I went to toward the first of the summer someone brought there brand new Ford f-250 out there 6 speed and smoked his clutch right off the line...I would not have been happy at all....but that is very impressive for a stock truck.

that's interesting like was said before pulling isn't always a horsepower game it's getting the ponies you have to the ground and if he didn't spin then he was a step ahead

I watched a brand new 07 dodge do that this spring at our test and tune. Bad part is he came back and did it again. Just not enough clutch for the power they have and the weight they were trying to move.

A dually f-450 with a flatbed well they come stock with either 4.56 or 4.88 gears plus the added weight in the rear from the flatbed gave him traction. i saw a stock 05 PS pull a gas pull truck with a 502 bb with nitros like he was a soap box he was just able to get the power he had to hookup.

I understand the Ford was a F-450, but what were the "beefed up" Dodges? I'm wondering if they were the same size.

probably not 1 1/4 ton dually flatbeds with 4:56's or 4:88's. its not always about the power. as i showed before.

it's about weight verse HP when your sled pulling and other 4X4 sports..
for instance,Maddog was beaten by a 900rwhp Duramax(BoggieMax)and Maddog has almost 1500rwhp but with that kinda hp you lose to much traction on a loose track like they where on so it really doesn't you much good unless you are on a tight track, now take all them trucks you seen the other night back to a track that is clay(or a hard track also known as a Tight track)and the stock PSD(or any other stock truck for that matter)will be left in the background b/c the tighter the track the better higher hp trucks preform to a certain point..that rule works with tugawar and dirt drag racing..
