Narrow neck gosseneck and a short bed?
I have a 07 6.7 4x4 short bed srw and want to haul heavier loads and am looking at goosenecks. Will the narrow neck trailers solve the turning problem?

As long as you dont buy something that has a full 8ft wide nose then you wont have an issue. Not sure what kind of trailers you are looking at but my parents sell horse trailers and even the big ones can be pulled with short beds. You can custom order a full width nose but standard most are narrowed a little. My long bed got totalled and I am actually looking for a short bed now and I still haul for dad all the time.

i've pulled that style gooseneck many times and i have stacks and haven't had any issues yet. other then the bed touching the trailer from an off-cambered road going to an ORV park. just make sure you don't jack knife the trailer bad and you will be fine.

From my pic you can see what i tow. Trailer has the 8' square nose and I even got a headache rack . I use a 16" offset hitch. I have to be careful of where I'm going, it is possible that I could get in a bind if I pull in somewhere with no escape route planed. I always stick to the truck stops though for the extra room when fueling. If you are careful you shouldnt have to worry about anything. I have learned to stay away from couldesac's and any other similar turning situation. Learned this the hard way. Trailer has abig dent in one of the corners. Without the headache rack it would have been the cab and the rear glass that would have gave way.

i pull a 40' toy hauler with mine. its a full 8' across. tho on my 5th wheel hitch i have to slide it back to the "manuvering" position or itll hit my cab. the manuvering slides the hitch back about a foot or so.

I can turn our 20+5 PJ gooseneck past 90 degrees with my shortbed and the neck on it is full-width.

you will be jsut fine unless your trying to go past 90* or something and then your trying to rip the tires off the rim lol just make sure you set the height on the neck right and watch it going threw dips. if the trailer drops down to much there goes a tailgate or bed rail

they are pretty much all the same. while you want the trailer to sit as level as it can. you can raise the neck of the hitch, extend the vertical pipe, a bit to help. what kind of gooseneck hitch are you going to get?
