3500 and 2500"s have the same axle springs shocks and tires. the dually just has overload springs and 2 more tires.

Yeah you're fine now no problemo. You'll be around 8-9k. I used to haul one car open trailers and never got over 6k.

I still say get a V nose. Here's one I found on Google;

Wells Cargo autoSport V-Front - Wells Cargo Corporation

I suggest a weight-distributing hitch for the wind. You can't be too safe...

[BTW I drive this truck every day mainly in town. I go through bank drive-throughs and even Jack in the Box. It's easy driving a dually once you get used to allowing for the wider fenders.]

That looks to be a pretty nice trailer. Need a gooseneck though. That door on the front would work great though as we always bring our atv's to the track to keep from having to walk so far.
Yeah I haul a one car open trailer now with a big HEAVY steal box on front with tire rack, sliding generator compartment, etc..We got it custom built but its just not doing the job anymore.

Give them a call tomorrow and ask if they'll do the goose for you. I just googled 'enclosed car trailer' and found that one right off.

Ummm why would you need a gooseneck for a 32' trailer??

I tow this all the time safely with mine. It's 40' and probably 17-18k. Tows like a dream. I have airbags, a gooseneck adapter and a Tekonsha P3.

^^^That's the one we looked at last month at the Dallas RV show. We also checked out a Keystone Fusion with the blinged-out red interior, sharp! Wifey said too much red.

The srw 2500 & 3500 do not have the same spring setup... why would they call one the 2500 & the other a 3500 if they were the same

Get some airbags for your 2500 and your good to go

Mine's an 08 3912 and we have had zero problems with it. I wouldn't buy anything newer in the cyclone line. A top guy from KZ got hired at Heartland in 09 and their quality has really gone downhill. He changed a bunch of stuff and it looks like all he wanted to do was save money from my perspective. My company has 2 08's with no problems and 3 09 4012's and a 2010 Road Warrior and they have had problem after problem with them. If you get one get an 08, you won't regret it. I am absolutely in love with mine.

I think there's too much red on the fusions too. I'm mainly out west and all that red does is soak up heat when it's hot. If you're up north it doesn't matter.

Because a gooseneck is easier to get around

I'd take a gooseneck on anything over a 5th wheel or bumper pull. It only takes up 3 square inches of your bed and can tow more than twice as much as a class 4 bumper pull. The hitch is way easier to install than a 5th wheel hitch too. I did mine in an hour by myself.

Actually, yes, the 2500 "manual" tranny and the 3500 have the same axle and springs, minus the overloads and the extra tires. But the 2500 "automatic" does not have the same axle as the manual. The auto has the smaller axle but still the same springs, minus the overloads and of course the extra tires. There was even talk about the transfer case but some 2500's came with NP241 HD's too.

Why they still call the 2500 manual a 3/4 ton.....not sure. I cant remember the year but a few years ago Dodge started offering a 1 ton "single" rear tire truck.

As for towing, fortunately or unfortunately (however you want to see it) the Cummins far exceeds the tow ratings for these trucks. What you tow or how heavy you tow should come with experience and common sense. AND exhaust brakes should be high on your priority list if you plan on heavy loads.
