Yeah they are really bad here in iowa i own a construction company and i had to get 15 ton tags on my truck as well as DOT stickers because my truck trailer combo will be over 10,001 and i have a class d (d2 in iowa is for 26,0001 or under) but i have to get a class A no air brakes because of my telehandler. Also Farm tags do not exempt you either here because thats their big push right now because so many of them are driving overweight. I have never seen so many DOT car around but i got my stuff covered now but going from$75 a year for license to $375 kinda sucks

Scared in Tx. Am I correct that my farm tags on the trailer exempt me from most laws within TX? I know I read that we can haul the 5'hay rolls, 2 wide, maxing over 10' wide. While I was hauling with my '92 farm truck I never worried. Now that I have the new 09 without farm tags, y'all got me to wondering.

Farm tags on my trucks. I was pulling my 40 ft dual tandem flatbed with a kubota m125x tractor, john deere round baler, and a john deere moco up i-35 north of dallas bout 2 months ago, not sure of what all of that weighs, but it was HEAVY. Was going to roll up several hundred acres of hay for a guy near Durant. DPS officer pulled me over, looked at my tags, and checked to make sure I had it all strapped down real good and said I was good to go. Ignorance is bliss I guess... I didn't even ask if it was ok to be draggin that much stuff legally, didn't really care.
