22.5 wheels or 17 rockstars

Hopefully a few of you can help me with this. I'm in need of new tires for my 2006 dually. It's got 6" of lift and 37x13.5 mud tires on it. I really don't care for how far the rear tires stick out. There really are not many options for a tall skinny tire other than the 22.5 wheel conversions. I can get 37x12.5 tires (bfg or superswamper vortracs) but I really don't think they'll be tucked in a whole lot closer to the truck. I'm really leaning toward the 22.5 conversion but I'd like to get some of your opinions on the pro's vs cons. Let me know what you guys think either way. I did a search but didn't really see too much by way of ride quality. There really isn't too much of cost difference either way.

i hear the 22.5's make the ride ruffer but my opinion if you have the money and and dont care about spending it i would rock the 22.5'2!! but if you are wanting a good look for cheap money and towability the rockstars then its all up to you but the semi wheels will look about the best specially of you get them custom designed ones not just holes in them, but it all depends on how you use your truck and what kind of gas mileage you want

I have 22.5 with 37" Goodyear tires(16 ply). I LOVE them! The ride quality isn't much different than stock 10 ply tires....Its a 1 ton its goin to ride rough, what can you expect. They do however stick out still in the back....

I don't have anything bad to say about the 22.5s either. The ride is firmer, no where near stiff. I didn't even see a difference in the fuel mileage. I personally wouldn't have anything else on my truck.

Bigger rims give you better looks and better cornering ability, but they do so by sacrificing shock absorbtion, acceleration, and braking ability.

I appreciate the feedback fellas. I figured the 22.5's would ride a little stiffer. I think this truck rides smoother than my old 2 wheel drive 3/4 ton. Thanks for the pic showing how far out the tire sticks out. Right now my outside tire is farther out than that. The money is not all that much different in either set up. I'm running the factory wheel with the 37's right now. So buying the rockstars and new tires really isn't that much cheaper than the conversion.

ok, first off i got them from 4 wheel parts. i took them to a local tire shop to get the tires mounted and they ended up scratching one. do to the cone shape of the front wheel, the tire mounting machines cant lay the tire bead around the tire. after waiting a week for my new wheel they bought me, i called 4 wheel parts and they said, "bring them by and we can mount them no problem". well took them there and it happend again, there mounting machine scratched it, not bad, but still they were brand new and it wasnt sopposed to happen. i let this one slide and just touched it up since mine are flat black. well i went to go mount it on my truck and the damn bolt patter was off. so i decided to take my old scratched one touch it up and go get the tire put back on that one. this time i told them to put the tire on by hand. after 20 mins and 5 guys getting the tire on. i finally had it on my truck. went go get it aligned and again the cone shape of the front wheels wouldnt allow the alignment tool to go on the rim. so i had to put my factory wheels back on to get it aligned. there a few more problems i ran into. if you wanna know them ill let you know. just dont wanna bore anyone with this long post...sorry
