Does anybody run Nitto Mud Grapplers?

I'm thinking about getting the Nitto Mud Grapplers, they look like a good MT, but more importantly, they're sexy! Just wondering about peoples experiences with them.

How's the tread life? How bad is the road noise compared to other MT's? Any problems with them? Thanks!

I've got a buddy running them on his Harley Davidson f-350, 8 "lift and 22" w/37" mud grappler's. Very loud tire, obnoxiously loud. Tread life is okay, I think comparable to any other M/T. They are good looking tires though. You can hear him coming from a little less then a mile away when hes going about 50mph.

We had a guy camped next to us that had the mud grapplers on his truck. I swear to god, when he was coming down the highway towards camp,we could hear him a mile out. Sounded like a Cessna flying towards us. It was terrible.

Easily the loudest tire I've ever heard. Even worse than the Boggers a couple guys in town run.

Thanks. Well that kinda sucks about the noise. Maybe I'll just have to upgrade my stereo...

I like the look of the tire, but I mostly drive city/highway, so not sure if it be worthwhile to get those.

i run them. and to be honest i hate them. of course they do look good but my fuel mileage dropped off 2 mpg. and they are noisy as sh!t. im runnin 37x13.5x20, same exact size i took off. What i took off was the kumho Road venture MT, not as flashy but i liked them and i wish i could trade my mud grapplers for the road ventures. I got about 40k out of the kumhos....i drive mostly on the highway so really other than looks the nittos are worthless. i may change my mind though come winter time.

it's a waste to get an mt to pound around on the street...buy an aggresive at like the procomp extreme at...but hey, if you want the look and the sound, then go for it...they actually wear pretty evenly if you keep it all aligned and rotated...and as for the sound, it is a weird, high pitch sound (hum basically)...whereas your swampers (bogger/tsl) are a full on roar...

I have heard only those type of comments for guys running 3/4 and 1 tons. mileage bad, way too loud and wear terrible. Buddy of mine has them on his f250 38x15.5x20's and does hyway driving and town, they are freaking loud, do great in the mud if you go out more than once in 15k cause thats about what they get before new ones. I love my Toyo MT's have averaged over 30k on them and i never rotate.

I do primarily street driving, but I live out in the woods, so I do go out wheelin occasionally. I'm just a wimp and don't want to scratch up my truck. The stock tires are like bicycle tires on it, just doesn't look quite right.

Thanks for all the input, I guess I'm back to the BFG's. Maybe I'll look at the Toyo's, but no one seems to sell them that I can find

The mud grapplers looks great but the Toyo's are better.
Mud grapplers are loud, expensive (though not as expensive as the toyo's) and they wear quick

Hey moparguy, Les Schwab there in town sells the Toyo MT's Best MT by far as far as noise and life as well as ride quality. I see you're in Grass valley, I grew up there, and that les schwab is a great store to deal with.

Wow, I guess it depends on the store. I had the worst experience EVER at the Rohnert Park Les Schwab. I won't EVER deal with them again. Defective tires (inconcentric, you could see it when they tried to balance them) and wobbled like crazy. And those buttheads not only wouldn't make it right after much patience letting them try and balance them, they sent the biggest guy in the shop to come try and intimidate me. Unprofessional to say the least. The tires were Wild Country. My neighbor gets his Toyos at the one in Ukiah, and has good luck with them. E-rated, I believe, and apparently remarkably long wearing.

Another tire that is consistently a long wearing, economical mud tire is the Dunlop Radial Mud Rover. I just got another set. I liked my Coopers, but have always had good luck with the Dunlops. Harder rubber, I think which also makes them a little slicker in the rain. I don't know if they make E rated, though. Mine are D rated. With duals, it doesn't matter much to me.
