Old Tires on a New Truck

Hey guys. I bought a new (31 miles) 07 mega off the lot about a month ago. It obviously sat on the lot for a while and I got a killer deal on it (26K), but it has made for one little problem. The "new" tires on it already have cracks in them around the inside edge at the bead area. I'm wondering if I should beat DC up for a NEW set of tires to go with the NEW truck I bought.

Thanks
Chief

Yeah, talk to them about the safety factor of on of them blowing out. They should replace them.

If its a certified truck which most likely it is due to low miles, brand new tires are required. They have to fix it!!!

It's a new truck right? Not a used or certified truck. I'd make them put new ones on it. It's not your fault that it sat around for a year on a lot.

If they are the Michelins, call them(tire manufacturer) they have a recall out on them, and they have little to no wear and have the sidewall cracking, theyll pay for a new set of tires.

Buddy of mine ended up swapping his stock tires for some 315BFGs for about $50 out of pocket(5tires)

Call Michelin and file the claim, then go up the Discount and get some new tires for free

Read guys, he's got a 2wd. 315's won't do him any good. Not everyone wants a truck like that.

My stock michelins have cracks on the sidewalls too. I was told that it didn't hurt anything and was strictly cosmetic.

I haven't had any issues so far in 30k miles but that doesn't mean that they won't cause problems. My dad has some on his car that are the same way and they have 100k on them. I think it is just a michelin thing.
