Rotating - including spare?

What is general consensus on the rotating pattern? And how often do you rotate?

Do you guys follow what is in the owners manual or some other pattern?

Do any of you guys include the spare, and if so, how?

Tire Tech Information - Tire Rotation Instructions

Does figure G look to be the correct way?

I'm thinking about upgrading to larger tires which would mean I need a new spare, and I hate to think about buying an extra tire to just let it hang out and never get used (hopefully!).

With 4x4 I know there is concern about keeping the size and wear about as even as possible, so I wasn't sure how that worked with the spare.

I am currently using pattern C, it's just like the on in the owners manual. I rotate my tires every 5000 miles. I've used that interval on my last two trucks and it works well for me. On my last truck I had a matching spare and used patter G. If I end up getting a matching spare for this truck when I get new tires, I will go back to that pattern.

I agree with you about buying a spare just to have it hang out. If you have to buy a spare because you are going with oversized tires, you can extent the life of a set of tires a little by rotating it in.
