22.5's and Flats - Spare Tires????

It occured to me that a 22.5 wheel/tire combo is quite a bit larger than the stock size that comes on a dually.

So say you are unfortunate enough to have a flat tire, what do you do?

If its on the front do you use a small spare to get you to a tire shop, even if it is a 4x4 truck? What if it is on the rear?

I have never owned a dually before so this is just one of the questions that keep popping into my head.

Thanks.

You call a mobile tire shop like the big rigs do.

with as much as a setup like that costs the tires should never go flat. but you can usually get away with a smaller one on the front just cause the front axel isn't usually a limited slip. but if you get a flat on back just pull the flat one off and rock a single wheel.

Are the inner back wheels compatible with the front or are the offsets etc. so different that they cannot be switched in an emergency.

Can you run only an outer on the rear or must the inner be there to mate up to?

Sorry for the elementary questions, Im new to duallies.

i've never owned a dually but yea ive seen guys just run the outside tire on the back. and the wheels should all be compatable where ever you put them with factory wheels. i dont know about a set of 22.5 because there are different adapters and stuff right.
i know with my 35s on my pickup i would definatly always run the smaller spare on the front so there would be some swapping if i had a flat on the back. hope that kinda answers what you are looking for.

Even if you had a spare, the only place you could keep it would be in the bed. These things are pretty heavy and if you ever had to change out a flat, by the time you got one off, you will be wishing you had just called the mobile tire truck out. Thats why you don't see the truck drivers changing their own tires. You would also have to carry some big tools just to get them off. Best thing to do is just call the mobile tire truck out just like the truck drivers do if you ever did have a flat.
