tire v mpg

I have a 03 with 265/70/17 tire on the truck bfg rugged trail i have got 50,000 on this tire.i have 6 speed man with 3.73 rears. i am looking to go to a 285/70r/17 or 285/75r/17 tire bfg all-terrain ko tire. i have off set wheels all ready. what i can not find is what will this do to my power and fuel milage. I pull a 40ft 5th wheel over the rockys in denver to grand junction getting 12.5mpg not going below 55mph. is there a place that telles you what each marking means on the tire thanks Nick

well to give you an idea, I had the 265/70/17 tire as you do. And I went to a 315/70/17 with the stock 3.73 gear. And I just did a 500mile road trip. I've done this trip with both tires and with the stock tires I was getting about 20mpg and with the new tires I was getting about 17mpg. And for the power it was a little slower off the line but I can still spin the tires no problem.
