Parnelli Jones?

I drive quite a bit in the sand, me having a 9000 lb. truck its not the best sand machine so i need a really good tire in sand. currently i have nitto muddgrapplers which arent bad in the sand but are wearing down quickly and im currently looking for new tires. The PJs have great reviews and ratings in sand but i was wondering if anyone knows of a great sand tire? thanks

fantastic tire!!! they do wear down pretty quick though...id say they would get better mileage than those grapplers and there would def. be less noise. if you do a bunch of driving in the sand, id say do it...check out the nitto dune grapplers also, cause they are supposed to be a pure desert tire:thumbsup

I believe the more aggressive the tire the worse it does in sand. I think the Super Swamper Trxus STS is supposed to be a sand monster, also the Nitto Dune. I had the BFG all terrains and in the sand aired down they were unstoppable. I also had the ProComp Xterrains in the sand 37X13.50's and I made it about 3 feet. Just my 2 cents.

yeah, the pj's would last longer than the mud grapplers...gentleman above me mentioned the sts and i agree with him, those things just paddle on through...id stick with the pj because i think that tire will be your best performer in all conditions (sand, snow, water, ice, mud)

My son bought PJ's in a 37, for his 99 PSD with 6 inch lift, had them about 5 months. Truck was sitting in front of the house with us working on his Cherokee when the left rear tire blew out. Scared the crap out of us, had neighbors coming out to see where the artillery shell landed. It has a hole about 5 inches long in the side wall where the tread starts and PJ would not warrenty it, he went to Toya Mt's and loved them.

I have a buddy that has PJs on his superduty and they do great. He makes trips up to the dunes all the time and has great luck with them. They wear pretty good too.

"It has a hole about 5 inches long in the side wall where the tread starts "

this happened to my nitto mudders(actually just one) at the end of their lifespan. had about 5 of the rips in the sidewall

I have heard the pj were soft ( to soft ) good for sand. and ride nice.

i have heard good things about the pro comp extreme AT in the sand box.

For a all arond truck. I think the toyo AT would last longer. ride smoother and not disappoint in the sand.

if you still want a mud tire. TOYO MT !!!!!!!!!!!
