mud tire

anyone running the nitto mud grappler or open country m/t.looking to get them in 35. how is the noise and wear of the tire. other choice is the nitto terra grappler. which would be best for the old diesel mega cab.

hey buddy, have you thought about the goodyear mt/r ?
they are a bit loud, but its the best big lug tire that i've ran.

everyone raves about the open country m/t, so you'll get
some good responses on those.

i personally like the tread pattern on the nitto mud's.
looks like a dinosaur footprint.. LOL

The Nittos are REALLY loud. There was a guy camping next to us a couple weeks back. He was running the Nittos and I swear to god you could hear those tires coming from a mile outside the campground. They howl like nothing I've ever heard before.

I've known people with Swampers and Boggers, and neither was as loud as the Nittos.

They do look mean though.

i recommend the coopers as well! pretty quiet, similar tread to the toyos, a whole lot less money for them... i'd say they're pretty solid all the way around!

ill be the first to rave on about the toyos

they will outwear the cooper lookalikes by many thousands of miles..ive heard that the coopers only last about 25k as to the toyos which easily get 45k if taken care of.

they are quieter then the other tires you mentioned, and will double the wear of the nitto a/ts which often dont see more then 25k miles

the nittos m/ts are insanely loud as mentioned above, and dont wear all that well on the street.

The Toyo m/t is the quietest, easiest to balance, and longest lasting mud terrain out there

i just ordered some 35x12.5sr20s on monday...i paid about $355 a tire and am looking forward to next wednesday when they will be on there!

Old School

Wow. You guys run all those fancy tires.

I run the old Interco TRXUS...

Here's their blurb on it:
TrXus Mud Terrain is INTERCO'S answer to the need of those who want a smooth, super quiet ride with tough, thick sidewalls with a chip and cut resistant compound. This tire has more siping than any other mud terrain on the market; which has proven to be almost magical in icy snowy conditions. These same traction features make this tire a serious rock climber.
