tire/wheel question for new guy
first off, im new to the forum, but i have "lurked" for a while now, and i gotta give you guys props on an awesome forum and awesome trucks! i just got a brand new '08 dodge cummins 2500 4x4 in inferno red, and i gotta say, im psyched! anyway, i have a couple questions for you guys...i DID do a search, but i couldnt exactly find answers to the questions i am wondering about. i live on the texas coast and do a lot of shark/surf fishing, so naturally i drive on the beach quite a bit. the truck is currently completely stock, and it does fine for the most part for beach driving, but i would like to get a little farther down the beach to some "unbeaten paths" and to get away from crowds...maybe even with a little bit of good looks thrown in there. with this being my first 4x4, you gotta gotta excuse my ignorance...these questions probably arent too hard to answer, but please forgive me. i want to improve the tire/wheel situation a little bit. i want to get that really agressive look of the tires sticking out of the wheelwells a little bit, and have some nice looking rims to go with it...but not get too obnoxiously huge, because this is a daily driver as well. im curious to know what the biggest tire size i can get with a leveling kit and 20" wheels..considering i still want the tires to stick out a little bit for that mean look. any comments would help. thanks ahead of time! -czecher |

I would recommend some 35's on 20's would look sharp.... and its going to depend on the amount of backspacing how much your tires are going to stick outside of your fender.... I dunno what tires are good for sand, but i really like the look of the Nitto Dune Grapplers (suppose to be designed for sand) just my 02......
