Nitto Terra Grapplers

I have been running these tires for sometime now and seem to be a great tire for me. I have the 285/75/16 tires. I ordered a new set and had them mounted today. Went to get the truck and I noticed the tires have white lettering on one side and black on the other. The sets I bought before were always black on both sides. Are they doing that now? I left the truck set at the shop. I may take them off. I hate white letters even tho they are to the inside. Anyone know anything about this ? Thanks

I bought a set last year and I dont think they were white on one side.... if they were you wont notice after a few miles and they get dirty.

I have been considering these tires for my next set. What kind of life are you getting out of them? I really want to go mud grapplers but think the life of those are not very long.

I only had my TGs for a few months because I decided to upgrade size and to the muds. I cant comment on life expectancy. I can comment on noise however! and the muds are so freaking loud at high way speeds. I hear tire noise over wind, straight pipe, turbo, intake, etc on the highway. But I actually use the MGs from time to time as what they were designed to do.... play in the mud! For that they are awesome! My next set of tires will probably be MGs again I love these tires!! The TGs were really nice if you dont play in the slop, and spend most of your time on paved surfaces, with the occasional stint off road, thats just my experience.

i hear they dont llast over 30k miles...i hope someone can deny that because that is horrible..they are based off the toyo a/t and made by toyo..theyre just cheaper

and the toyo a/ts are good for an average of 50k

I just took mine off, and will never buy another nitto tire. Got about 17k miles out of my Terra Grapplers. Had a friend who only got 14k out of them, and another that is showing considerable wear after 8k miles. Just bought toyo M/T's and so far im lovin them. They look great, perform great, and are the quitest M/T i've ever heard, can't report on wear yet though.

im probly a minority but i got at least 35k out of my nitto mudders dotn know the exact mileage because i never got my truck recalibrated but there was about 35k difference on the odometer whatevere that equals out to on the mathmatics im not positive but im pretty sure if you get bigger tires your recording less miles on the ododmeter so id have to say im was satified with the nittos and yeah man they are awesome mudders will throw one he11 of a roost. 35-12.5-17 mainly highway driving at 70-80mph, with soem rough jobsites and some muddin here and there. reason i got rid of them is that one tire developed tears in the side wall on both sides of the tire.

Thanks for all the comments from past and current owners. I'm trying to get an early start on deciding which tires. If I can get 30K - 35K miles out of them that is a lot for someone who is still accustomed to the tread wear of Ground Hawgs, Monster mudders and the super swampers
