I really liked the look of the hammer painted wheels and decided to do mine. Does anyone know what sand paper to use and if I need to use the etching primer with the hammer paint. Thanks in advance and I will post pics when Im done ![]()

Use 320 grit for scuffing and make sure to clean and degrease. use self etching primer, it'll really help with the adhesion. good luck.

I must say that those hammered rims, to me, just look like someone didn't prep the wheels properly before painting them. I know that's the way the paint is because I painted a utility trailer with it. I don't think it looks right on rims though.....
