Largest Tire on Stock Rims?

Whats the largest tire that will fit on my 17X8 rims? Going to a 6 or 8" lift and would like to keep the factory wheels.

I think you could do 37X12.5X17.. The 37X13.5X17 will mount, but IMO you will be loosing a lot of the tires strength due to the sidewalls "rolling" inward to seat to the narrow wheel. Most of the Dodge 2500-3500's come with 17X7.5 wheels, it should say on the inside of the driver side door on a sticker what your truck came with.

no wider than a 12.50 or else you will lose a lot of integrity of the tire. 37" would be the tallest, but be advised you will get a lot of body roll in turns because of the small rim and big tire combo

I checked the sticker and it says 17x8.
Thank you all for your replies. I understand the tall tire / short rim will tend to roll in corners but I'm old school on that. I don't like the look of low profile big truck tires.

There are a lot of nice wheel/tire combos out there but i really like the look of stockers with large tires. About half way down this page is a truck with stock rims and 37's. i think it looks sweet.
Graphite Trucks!
I have 315's on my stock rims and at full pressure or even at half pressure on the back the rims pull the sidewalls in to far and make the tread donut. So i have to let a lot of air out so the tread has a flat contact area. Not sure how bad it is will 37's though.
