Help! Question: Powder coating vs hyperblack vs black chrome

I've read some of your posts about powdercoating rims and that the finish can chip. I like chrome wheels - but think the hyperblack would look so wicked on my silver truck. And then there is something called black chrome? Can someone please clarify these terms and which is most durable for work-truck type use. I'm not sure if aluminum will be shiny enough for me... (Note: Girl behind the wheel ! ).

Lenso wheels in Hyperblack: These are the ones I have my eye on at the moment:

I like this wheel a lot. Not sure if it is "truck-like" enough if you get my drift. I'm not into the racing or the dropped look. Performance stuff is easier to decide, but I'm working on a look, comments would be much appreciated.

I think hyperblack and black chrome are the same thing, but some companies call them hyperblack and some call them black chrome.

If you buy some rims that you like, these guys do a bunch of different finishes.

Whoops, good point Obviously I don't have an eye for these things yet.

Thanks underwood ... I wonder how the finish would hold up to Canadian winters...but I like the custom look.

Black chrome is exactly what the name says. Chrome with a black tint. Hyper black would be like a black painted wheel. A lot of import guys run hyper black wheels with a polished lip.... Powder coat is very strong. Bonds better and thicker than paint.I have had powder coated wheels and never had a problem with them. i actually am putting powdercoated wheels on my truck...

American Racing: Official Manufacturer Website- custom, chrome, polished and painted wheels

Look at the wheels called "Tank" It is available in Black Chrome
