Help an old guy with a New Toy! 2008 MegaCab 2500 4WD -

Dodge guy since 10, 37 now. Just bought new 2008 6.7L White Laramie Megcab - loaded (except sunroof). Normal goodies on way flip over Gooseneck Ball, tonneau cover, stainless rocker trim, chrome handles & fuel door, W2W nerfs, bedliner, tailgate valance, chrome deflector, tint windows, wheel liners, bolt on flares, hood scoop. Also decided 9 year old son and I should have some fun before he does not want to be caught with dad...so have train horns on way for fun when we go traveling with horses, 4 wheelers etc. I drive about 15,000 miles per year with 25% city rest highway.

Tires and Rims:
I want that Power Wagon Brochure tire look (not monster truck look) while also filling wheel wells. In photos I have seen 17" stockers with larger tires to fill holes but for my taste looks a little too much like marshmallows. I am guessing I need larger tires AND rims to avoid this look?

Question:
Can I go to 20" custom rims with larger tires and not have to lift my truck or modify it?

Perfect world: 20" rims total 32"-33" maybe 34", do not need overly wide as I am fine with 9" - 10.5" wide. I do have a 2500 truck with 8x6.5 lugs so I know rims are harder to find.

I do pull a trailer, have 80-acre hobby farm and drive 15-20K a year on highway so tough mix to satisfy. I need decent tread life, good weight ratings and good traction with that cool off road all terrain look without being ridiculously noisy when I am on highway doing business by cell phone or talking to family.

Thanks for any suggestions or photos you can provide this old dog.

here's my Mega Cab. 20's are good and Rims aren't hard to find as its the same lug pattern as Chevy. you can go with a 33" tire on it with no problem at stock height. If you do a leveling kit, you can get a 35" tire if you rim is the right offset.

Tire wise, for towing and doing a little offroad I would highly recommend the Dick Cepek Fun Country II. You won't be dissappointed with the mileage, the ride, and everything else. As for the rims, you can't go wrong with a forged wheel. USA Forged is the most reasonably priced Forged WHeels

And I suggest for the train horns mounting them inconspicuously. Mine are mounted where the spare tire used to be and Do not hit them when a cop is around, lol I got two tickets already, they're addicting.

another good tire is the toyo open country m/t

they last around 45-50k miles and are hands down the best m/ts

ive also been told numerous times that they are quieter then most a/ts

Thats a lie. lol I just threw a set of Toyo m/t's away because they cupped, were way to noisy and a rough ride. I'm running IROKs instead and love them, and its supposed to be worse tire. The Dick Cepek tires are top notch in my book though. Easy to balance, great wear pattern, quite, and nice ride.

In my personal experience, the Toyo M/Ts are quieter than BFG TKOs...which are an aggressive A/T. The tire hum off the Toyos is a much higher frequency than the dull humm of the TKOs...it's alot less noticeable, especially in our quiet 6.7s.

Love the look of Fun Country II but doe snot appear they come in 32 or 33 20: rims only 35's and I do not want to have to lift truck or have any rubbing problems.

I've run 35' Toyo M/T's on two trucks . They are quieter when new , but as they wear they tend to get noisier . I found that to avoid the cupping I had to rotate them every month or about 5000 mi . I don't think there's any mud tire that will last long on the front of a diesel pickup . I would be interested to see how the new Dick Cepek Mud Country compares to the Toyo M/T .
