Pro Comp XTerrain's 3ply.....are these new tires?
Can anybody comment on the quality of these tires? How is the tread life? Noise? I need a heavy duty tire rated at at least 3860lb for an 18" wheel for carrying a truck camper, but I want great looks too. This narrows my options quite a bit. I wish I could get a Toyo M/T in a size that I like with that weight rating. There is the Cooper STT's(325/65R18 @3860lbs) or the Pro Comp XTerrain 3ply in the same size and rating. I really want a tire that has the wrap around tread for the great looks....thats why AT's are not an option. I have a 06 3500 SRW LB 4x4. Anyway can anyone vouch for the Pro Comp XTerrains or comment on my choices? I have heard a lot of good things about Coopers on here, but are they good for my application? And any fitment issues....I will do a 2" level, but no lift kit. Oh yeah, what about price differences?

x-terrains wear quickly on a heavy truck. A buddy wore his out in 20,000 miles on a GM 1/2 ton, I would think a Cummins Ram would be way worse. I have them on my 94Jeep Cherokee, and they work great.

All the wide void mud terrains I have used on full size trucks are pretty much wore out in 20K or less if you run em year round. I have a buddy with the Pro comp Xtreme Mud terrains on a toyota and he raves about them. They are 6 mo. old on a light truck and they still look new the tread is very deep. That toyota probably only weighs about 1/3 of a cummins though.

i ran 35" xterrains on my 98 2500 gasser then on my 01 cummins and got around 60k out of the set, its all in keeping them aired up, balanced and rotated. one of my favorite mud tires by far.

I had them on a 02 F-350 they were loud and wore fast. Then I put the extreme AT's on and were the best tire I've ever owned. So I put them on my new dodge too.

I have had my 35x12.5 18's for 20k and they have done very well. Sing a little on the highway but no worse than any other AT I've had. They look like they should easily do the 40k they are touted to do.

they seem like a hit or miss tire. if you take good car of them, that is keeping them rotated/aired up, they should be able to give you at least 30,000 out of them on a cummins
