I just got a 2008 Mega-Cab 6.7 4x4. I traded in a F250 FX4 ,piece of junk. I thinking about getting bigger rims and tires, maby just bigger tires on stock rims.I'm not ready for a lift because I tow daily for work. How big can I go? If you have pics that would be great.

I just put on Vision 81 wheels and 275 x 19.5 Michelin xde 2+ tires for $ 3000 Canadian. They fit without lifting but I had to remove my front mud guards which were being hit when I turned. The wheels stick out about 1" outside the fenders but look great. They are about 1.5 " higher than the stock wheels and tires. Go to Rickson wheels to see lots of pictures of trucks with the Vision wheels.

It all depends on the back spacing of your wheels. If you find a wheel with a backspacing between 5 and 6 inches you can run a 35X12.50 tire without rubbing. I ran my 35" X Terrains without a lift for a while and had no rubbing issues at all. I ended up doing a leveling kit for looks and then my current suspension for offroad performance, but niether was needed for clearance. Thats why I like the H2 wheels. They seem to have the perfect back spacing. You can run the stock wheel with 35s but depending on the width, you'll probably rub a little on the control arms. The stock wheels have a 6.25 back space. Another thing I found out is that a lot of All Terrain tires will rub when a Mud Terrain wont. I think ATs are built a little more square on the tread edge and MTs seem to be more rounded. My buddy's truck rubbed with ATs but not with the Mts using the same size and brand of tire. You also have to remember that most tires are not true to size and some are bigger than others even those the size stamped on the tire is the same. So in short, back spacing is the key:thumbsup

I agree, and if you are going to keep the stock rims, and not do any other mods, you would be better off with a 33. If you go with the 35, you will probably rub some.

I am running 295/70/17's Toyo mud terrains on stock wheels. Fit fine before I put on a leveling kit. After the leveling kit tire rubs the mud guards on full turn/compression...Just barely though.

Yep, my 35s fit better before I leveled it. Any lift is going to move the wheel back in the fender opening unless you get longer control arms. My H2s and 35X12.50X17s didnt rub the control arms or the rear fender opening at stock height but came within a 1/4" of rubbing the mud flaps at full lock with the leveling kit.
