Smallest rim size for winter tires

Looking to get some used 8 lug rims to mount some studded tires on and wondering can I get away with 16" rims from older 2500/3500 ram? If so what years will work?

i think they used the same lug pattern so they would all work but dont quote me on that

i dont think 16s will clear the front calipers... seems a bit tight ......
