Cooper Discover S/T

I am running a set of the Discover S/T s 33's my toyota. I like them, but they are loud. They howl starting at around 30 mph. But on the plus side they track well, no balencing problems, they except steel studs if you want, great traction but clean out when you spin them.

unless cooper has changed the rubber compound in the s/t's you won't get much for miles out of them on a cummins. my old man would only get around 20k out them (95 cummins) . i've been running the atr and have probably 10k on them. i love them, had them on my old pickup (99 cummins), 30k on the tires when i sold it and they still had another 15-20 on them. and you can't beat a 50k mile warranty.

The STT's are supposed to be quiter, but they are a mud terrain, not an all terrain.

I have 15K on my E rated 265/70R17 discoverer S/T's and they are wearing very well. I have them rotated regularly and have very little road noise out of them. If they made a 285/70R17 in an E rated S/T, they would be my next tire. Because of that, I will most likely be going with the Toyo AT.

Maybe mine are older style I bought mine from a guy that had them in his garage for awhile. He had taken them off his Chevy due to the noise.

I cant believe people are saying that they like the ATR. I have them and HATE them, They wear nice, but i cant get sh!t worth of traction in the rain. The snow they are good but anything else they suck...IMO. The ST's Are supposed to be nice but you WILL NOT get anywher near 70k out of them. thats alot of miles on a tire. I have had BFG AT's those lasted for 60 and are decent in all conditions. Also had Nitto Terra Grapplers. they wear nice and got around 50k out of them. Keep in mind these are not on my Cummins *besides the ATR* and i have heard that the Pro Comp Xtreme AT or just the AT will get anywhere from 50-65k on them...

My .02

Mike

Well, I do have mine rotated ALOT. And as mine are e rated, the stiffer sidewall may help with the noise. I also have them siped(sp). traction in icy conditions has been sweet. I dont think its realistic to think you are going to get extended mileage out of any tire on rigs this heavy. I'm hoping to see a solid 30K and then I will swap them out.
