unsure about tire fitment.....
hey guys, I just got my 01 a few weeks ago and have been spending alot of time on here. Out of all of the reading and searching ive been doing on tires, most i have seen have been on later models(03 and up). I will need new rubber very soon. I am almost positive that i am going with Toyo OC mt as they have some great ratings but am unsure about what size to go with. I dont want to level it right now unless i cant get a decent size under it, and then i guess ill have to. lol and i really dont want the tires to look too "small" in the wheel wells. i will occasionally pull a 3 horse gooseneck w/living quarters so i want to keep the load range at E. mpg is of minor concern. I guess the help i need is figuring out what the max size i can go without the leveling kit and what is the max size i can go with the leveling kit? Also, what about speedo recal?? how far off and how big can you go before you cant recal at the dealer? Any help is greatly appreciated and i look forward to spending alot more time on here.... thanks derek

On my 01, I had to get the leveling kit to run 295/70/17 Toyo M/T's.

Yes, they are from Schwab. The 01 stock has a 16" wheel - I had to go to a 17" wheel to get the Toyo's (per Schwab). With the taller tire on my 01, I needed the leveling kit to keep from rubbing. I believe on 03+ trucks, stock is 17" and you would not need the leveling kit. Somebody with more knowledge on your year would be better qualified to verify the 295's.
