Tire help

I am looking to buy new tires. Presently have Michelin 265/70/17 E rated. I am looking to go up in size still want E rated because I will be towing a travel trailer and also a dump trailer. Any and all suggestions / recomendations welcome. I hear alot about Procomp, Toyo, Coopers, and BFG. What should I stay away from. I've heard if I'm towing stay away from M/T's! What brand, size, and type is best to go with? These will be daily driver tires and with the weather in Oregon (esecially now with snow), I need a good dependable tire.

tires

Hey Mike, You Will Get Tons Of Opinions About This So......if You Arent Going Off Road, Harcore Mudding And Stuff, You May Concider Any At Tire I Personally Like Bfg Myself. I've Had Three Sets On Three Trucks And Loved Them. Quiet, Smooth Ride, Good Mileage, "e" Load Range In Most Sizes. I'm Running 305/65/17 At's On Stock Rims. You Could Go To 315's Without Rubbing, But You Will Lose Some Mileage And A Little Low End But Nothing Dramatic. Your Speedo Will Also Be Slightly Off As Well. Anyway Buy What Pleases You And Enjoy.................

I run the 285/70/17 bfg's on mine. Had em on my 04.5 and my 06, pulled a 16x8 dump dual axle loaded to the gils with firewood with the shortbed full as well...no worries. 65mph down the highway and held it, effortlessly.

found that airing them up to 60 lbs all around makes a big difference in ride and handling. rotate every 5k-10k and they'll continue to wear nicely. They're only a D rating, but they say that the bigger sidewall makes up the difference....as strong, if not stronger then the 265 E's.

Toyo Open Counrty A/T's

BFG A/T's

Procomp Extreme A/T's

Any of the 3 would be a great A/T tire with good traction & highway manners.

Popular sizes for a stock Ram would be

285/70/17 (basically 33" tall x 11.5" wide) or Toyo also has a 285/75/17 (which is 34" tall x 11.5" wide)
