16.5 hummer beadlocks on 3rd gen

i got a set of 16.5 inch hummer beadlocks for dirt cheap. they were for a project truck that didnt go through. i was wondering if it would hurt to put them on my 3/4. i put one of the wheels on and it looked very close to the brake caliper. it doesnt seem to be rubbing it at all though. i will definetely get a set of spacers to bring them out a bit. so what do yall think? 16.5 on a 3rd gen????

Not for me. If you look close, the 17"ers barely clear. Get out there and bend a rim and you could do some real damage. Not much room for error. Plus, I don't think true bead locks like the HMMWV 16.5"ers (if you're talking military take-offs) are DOT/street legal.

They have to be DOT stamped, the military drives them on the street.

The military is not DOT regulated.

My understanding is that the 8 bolt rims for bias ply tires are not DOT approved. The 12 bolt rims for radials are DOT approved. I want to do this to my truck, let us know if they work out.

They are DOT approved. And you can re-set the lug pattern if needed.

16.5 wont fit on a 3rg gen tried it. they will slide on but try to spin the wheel and its a different story. you can buy spacers or a weird offset but your talking about more money to run a 16.5 rim...is it worth it?

Funny thing is they are Not bead lock wheels they r 2 piece wheels so they can run a runflat in them The older 8 bolt wheels were made for the bias goodyear hummer tires and the newer 12 bolt wheels are made for the Radial 37's they run as for dot yes I do believe they are Dot approved but why would you want them Ugly things on a newer truck ? yuk
