What wheel finish
I'm shopping for wheels and can't decide on a finish. Most of the wheels I'm looking for come in a chrome finish but I've had those before and they were a nightmare to keep clean. I want a good looking high gloss chrome appearance wheel but I'm worried about upkeep especially since the truck will be offroad often. Questions - Wheels like XD or Pro Comp say chrome. Is this true chrome that's hard to keep clean or some clear coated chrome. Is polished a better choice or are they just as tough to maintain? The best looking, from a durability standpoint, wheels I've ever owned were some high gloss factory wheels that came on my 2001 Ford Super Crew. I didn't like the wheel itself but loved the finish. This is usually the case for the OEM wheels it seems. Do any aftermarket wheels come in the same finish? (Were these a painted/clearcoated finish?) Thanks for the help. |

I have the pro comp knight chrome wheels and they are so easy to keep clean. All is takes is soap and water. No polish or anything like that just soap and water and they shine just like brand new. It is great.

Chrome is easy to keep clean, if its kept up with ... Keep them clean, use a good polish, then a good wax to seal everything ...

I was checking those wheels out, they look pretty sweet. I don't think they are chrome. I believe they are powercoated to look like black chrome. I could be wrong.
