Am I crazy or what?
Hey Guys- Am I crazy to run 315s (35”) if I will be towing a fifth wheel around? I really, really, really want bigger tires but I don't want to throw everything off balance! Thanks

depended on your 5th wheel I have a leveling kit and had 35" baja claws on it and towed the 5th around just fine, I only towed the 5th once but it was to more check on how my truck and my hitch would handle.... I pulled a 36' camp trailer around oregon a couple times and had the 35"s on no big deal... just would check and see if your trailor is a lowrider or does it sit pretty high..

Thanks Guys- I wouldn't be worrying about it too much if were pulling a travel trailer because I can just drop the ball mount down accordingly. Unfortunately not so easy with the 5th. I have attached a picture of the rig and trailer with everything still stock. Whadya think, would raising the vehicle another 4 inches or so raise the front of trailer too high?

You're gonna have to modify your trailer. You ain't gonna have clearance Clarence with 35's!!! You've got a good looking set up judging from your picture. Personally, I wouldn't change a thing!!! What kind of suspension does the trailer have???? Larger tires for it??? Put axle under the leafs if so equipped??? Add box tubing between the torsion axles if so equipped??? Give us some more info.

good thoughts ... you can allways raise the trailer a couple of inches to help out or mayber just a lil taller of a tire.... if you can lower your 5th hitch or your pin you could do that to.. I agree with maybe doing a block lift on your axles for the trailor is the leaf springs under or over your axle? Quote:

The suspension on the trailer is leaf springs over axle. I guess it would be possible to raise it a little bit but would get a bit nervous that it would be getting too top heavy. Maybe I should resolve myself to 33’s and be done with it. Although I guess I could always hang on to the stockers and change them out if need be. Gosh I wish I could leave well enough alone!

Sounds like an awesome truck. And, yup I have pretty much decided anything bigger than a 33 is gonna cause me more trouble than it's worth Thanks for the suggestion.

Kraig, If You Want A Good All Terrain Tire Check Out Bfgoodrich All Terrain Ko's. I Just Put A Set Of 305/65/70 On My Truck. Looks Good No Rubbing Still Has An "e" Load Range And Were Not Too Pricey. They Are Also Only 1 Inch Taller Than Stock So There Won't Be A Huge Power Loss And The Speedo Would Only Be Slower By About 2 Mph, Your Dealer Can Fix This With The Scan Tool...
