Maximum tire size on 05 2500 4x4 with stock suspension?

Soon I'm going to be needing some more aggressive tread in prep of winter weather. Not going to have money in the budget for lift though. I've got the 17" oem alloys on it.They are 265/70/17's. So what's the max size I can squeeze on this thing that will still tuck and not rub? Looks to me I could squeeze some 35's on it as long as they werent too wide. Thoughts?

Stay with the stock wheels and 35's should fit with only minor rubbing on the control arms. I run 315/70-17's on mine (stock wheels and suspension) and only minor rubbing on the control arms. Some people can stuff 37's. There are tons of pic in the "stock with big meats thread".

Yup, 315s or 35s will fit and only rub on the control arm at full lock.

I just went thru all 34 pages of the meats thread. Metric tons of info in that thread. I'm thinking some toyo's in the 35 flavor. \m/

as far as i'm concerned rubbing doesnt mean it fits, i'd love to do 35's on my stock 05 3500 srw 4x4 but i've never been able to make them work on my 05 or 03. I stick with 285's or 33x12.50's. Ideally if you can afford them or run them down you'd run a 285/75/17 which is more like a 34.1. If someone came out with a 35x11.50 i'd think that'd work because correct me if i'm wrong if you want true digging power you want tall and skinny
