Well, they are BOTH built by the same company. Toyo is the parent company of Nitto, so they are very, very similar. Hard to compare when they're relatively the same tire. The Toyos usually sell for more money. Performance-wise, I think since they are SO close, it comes more down to price. Hope this helps.
:thumbsup

the grappler series has some different tire sizes than the a/t series. the grapplers have E rated tires in the sizes i'm looking for, the toyos don't.

I had The Toyos on my 2500HD and the Nittos on my Ram.

They are VERY similar in appearance, but not in quality. The Toyos wore much better then the Nittos currently are.

I'll be lucky to get to 20K with the Nittos (285/70/17) ,the Toyos still looked new at 20K.

I'm even doing 3K mile rotations on the Nittos trying to increase their life. The Toyos wore fine with 6K mile rotations.

I have heard that the Nittos are a softer tire and wear faster than the Toyos.

just from my research it looks like the toyo's have a little more aggressive tread than the nitto's.

I am seriously considering the toyo's since I am going to have to pick up a new set of shoes soon.

Wow, just plain wow. I had a set of Toyo and I will never go back. I got a wopping 23k out of them and my brother, same as my truck in a LB version, got 25k. Sorry, but replacing tires at that interval is poopie.

have never heard how Nittos wear, guess I'll save money not getting them either.

I had a set, the brand is escaping me, that lasted 30k with a snowflake on them. If I get better wear out of a set of winter tires pinned for studs and legal as traction devices something is wrong.

Dad and I run toyos because they are one of the few AT's with a mileage warranty.. and with the numbers of towing miles we do on dirt roads thats a good thing. Dad got new tires after 16K miles... go enough mileage credit he only had to pay for 2 tires... had they been BFG or Nitto he would have had to buy 4 tires.... They have a 40K warranty...

I had a set of 295 Nitto TerraGrapplers on my 02 - and would not purchase those same tires again. i would go with the 305's because they make them in E instead of the D load rating. I got close to 25k out of them before they were too bald to drive anymore. But they handle awesome in the rain as well as off road. If they would have lasted a little longer, say 35-40k miles i would buy another set tomorrow.
