22.5" mini floats opinion

4WD and Flotation Wheels

What do you guys think of the mini floats and adapters for 4 wheels drive truck. There is a pic of them on a ford about half way down the page. My concern is the adapters causing problems.

Looks awesome...I would think that they would be really strong and be able to handle anything that you could throw at a 3/4 or 1 ton. Only concern I would think about is how far out you would be comfortable with your tires sticking out? Take local laws into concideration.:thumbsup

Im talking about the mini floats, not the huge ones, they dont stick out at all. The first pic on the page is the tire and wheel combo. To use them you have to us a dually adapter and also the 10 lug adapter, im concerned that the adapters could cause problems, plus the added weight but i think they are alot lighter then the huge floats.

I am thinking you are going to put alot of stress on your front suspension and steering. They do look good, but I would concider the rest of your front end. Good luck with your project.

There couldnt be more stress with the mini floats then there are with a 37" 12.5 tire, i hope. Anybody else know anything about this set up?

why did you ask for experience if you already think you have the answer, I have seen adapters put on front ends and it has ripped them a part. Just read what damage something as little as a 2 inch leveling kit has done to some of these guys trucks.

Maybe I can give some advise on the adapters. I have been using American Force Adapters with my 22.5" setup on my dually. These things are tough and are not just regular adapters. They are a little heavy at 30lbs a piece, but they balance out extremely well and your truck will handle them with no problems. You would break or bend something else before you were to break the adapters. I have had no experience with any other adapters. Just American Force. Hope I helped a little.

I think they look great, considered doing them myself, but I don't want to lift the truck so i would probably have to go with a smaller wheel/tire combo. Some of the adapters these days are pretty tough, they aren't cast out of some junk metal like the old days. Most of the stuff these days are billet or the very least forged pieces that are plenty strong, as noted above, for a 3/4 or 1 ton truck. IMO

They would be awsome on a single wheel truck. I have got the fever to put some on mine. Searching for options and tire combo. Looks like if they were shaved to 22" you would have more choice in tires. I love the 10 lug look , but still want a deep dish appearance. seems like there are not many pics out there of this option. anyone have any tips?

Would 35's 10-12" wide work with only a leveling kit. Im guessing the offset will be key?
