What are the spec's for fitting H2 rims to an 03 4x4 Ram? I have read where they have to be machined. My question is what to tell the machinist for specs? Also, I have been hesitant on doing different rims, because I don't want them to stick out beyond what my stockers with 285/70/17's already do, so anybody with a 3rd gen and H2 rims please let me know---pictures would be great too! Thanks-
I just used a 1/2 variable speed router with a carbide cutter and guide bearing.About 2 minutes per wheel tops.
Not my truck but these are h2 wheels on Seans truck.I beleive they have something like 1/2 less backspacing than oems

jtnm, thanks for the reply. The links in your signature show some great pictures...both trucks look really good!! But, I can't get the H2 mod link or your other pictures link to work...I have been watching e-bay h2 rims, Where did you get yours?
Thanks Heckuvatrk for the compliements on my trucks!
I got mine from guy at work, 5 wheels & tires for $500 bucks. The guy had to have the bling bling wheels on his hummer. They only had less 500 miles on them, then I sold the BFG ATs to my Dad for $600 which the extra $100 paid for the machining. So in a nutshell I got mine for FREE . I am not sure which tire I am going to run yet. I need something more agressive than an AT. So for now factory Michelins, I got 2 more months before I need to have some mudders, hunting season will be starting. Although I am really leaning towards the Interco TrXus since they have been proven in the past out here where I am to work very good in the mud & snow, from first hand experience and they look cool too. I am also going to get my H2s powder coated black maybe flat or matte finish.
Sorry about that try this link again this should work now2004 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 H2 Wheel Mod and Install

If you have any kind of a lift on a pickup you need to have the wheels stick out a bit, other wise it looks like a fat lady with small shoes. Especially with a big front bumper.

I don't agree

I have been looking around at different tires for my stock 17"x7.5" rims and was thinking about the Cooper STT's in a 285 or 295 size. 295 is pushin it size wise.
Then I read this thread on H2 wheels, and about finding them on Craigs list for cheap. So I went to Craigs list and what do you think was the 5th post down? 5 H2 rims, 4 BFG AT's with 20,000 miles and the spare which has never been on the ground for $350.00! :thumbsup
Needless to say they are in my garage and will be machined and mounted on the truck within the next week.
Thanks for the tip guys!!

Bob, I completely agree with you. I think that your truck is one of the best looking I have seen on this forum! I just like stock wheels with tall, wider tires. It gives them a good 'lip'. What are the dimensions on stock wheels like yours in this pic? Id like to pick up a set like that and put some 35s on.
Anytime I run a 33x12.5, or a 35x12.5, they are on a 8in MAX wheel. I hate anything wider than 8wide.
