Nitto Terra Grapplers Or....
Nitto Terra Grapplers E Rating 285/75 R17 Set for $780 installed & balanced OR... ??? Any suggestions on other AGRESSIVE All Terrian tires that are under $800 for the set? My 265 BFG's (on the front) are coming apart at the sidewall and they are horrible in the mud. The road to my hunting camp is horrible this year due to all the rain so I need all the traction I can get without going to a loud Mud Terrain OR killing my fuel milage. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I just put the New Nitto Trail Grapplers MT on mine and they are kick a$$ on the road for sure. Not much noise out of them to speak of. I am not bullshooting you either. They are a quiet tire for a mt. Read about them on Nitto's wedsite. They were designed to be quiet like a at on the highway. Its done nothing but rain since I have had them on and they grip great on the Hwy when its wet. Cant wait to get them in the red mud of East Texas in a couple weeks.

Oh by the way, I was able to get them at Discount tire for 263.00 a tire for a total of 1052.00 just for the tires. Then 60.00 for mounting and balan. 73.00 for tax, then they gave me 165.00 for my stock tires for a total of 1020.00 out the door. The 263.00 was there online price from Discount Tire Direct which they had them onsale at 263 from 271.

Thanks cuttr28. I can get the Trail Grapplers for $1080 or $300 more than the Terrra Grapplers. My delima is: Is it worth spending an extra $300 for the MT's? That's where I'm at right now. I really know I need a more agressive tread like a MT for the heaviness of my rig in the area I hunt, but I don't wanna be putting new tread on in 25 - 30k miles like most MT's. I do a lot of tournament fishing and bow hunting so I'm almost always pulling a boat or a trailer. Any more spin to sway me in either direction??? Thanks again!

Man the only thing I can say is that I talked to people at Discount tire, Firestone, Goodyear an they all said the same thing about mt's, keep them rotated and balanced, more important rotated an I could get 40000 to 45000 maybe even 50 out of them. I know that is pushing it but I did my research on mt's, read the articles, read the post on diff. forums. I had decided on BFG MT KM2's but backed off and looked at the Nitto TG MT's again. Just a little more money but I too wanted a tire that is gonna give me some miles out of them. I am no means associated with Nitto but I really think that Nitto out did thereselves on these trail grapplers mt's. You cant imagine how good the ride is with very little noise. I have had mt's before and had to turn the volume up to listen to the radio, not with these. I had stock 265/70/17 Michelin AS's and them tires rode great on hwy. Then I leveled the front with a 2 and 1/2 hellbent spacers and my ride went to crap with the Michelins. Now with these Nittos the ride again is dang good even going over railroad crossings, bumpy roads. They absorb the impact better than them Michelins did. Sorry I got longwinded. Just my take on it.

I had two sets of Nitto Terra's on my Suburbans and put over 60k on one of the pair before I sold the truck. My brother has a 08 Dodge ExCab 2500 LWB 4X4 with the Terra's and is disgusted with the how the tire's are wearing...and NO he hasn't been keeping up with the rotation and NO they aren't E rated. Also, I too put the 2.5 Hellbent leveling kit on mine and my ride went to $h!t pretty quick. I brought the truck back to the dealership and they replaced the pitman arm & stabilizer with an upgrade which did improve the ride. Regarding my BFG's...a few technical gurus said that the BFG's do not handle the weight of the Ram 2500 & 3500 Diesels. I believe them! I'll decide here pretty soon ant try to post some pics of the outcome. Thanks to the both of you for your responses to my post!

I put some 285s Nitto Terra Graplers on my 2wd and now it can actually go through some mud! With the stock tires, green grass and a little soft up front and I was stuck! Definately not dissapointed.

Hankook Dynapro ATM's on mine. they wear well on the road, good to excellent traction everywhere. They are E rated in a 305/70x16. Ops

might want to look at the Cooper ATR. Ive been running them for about 5000 miles now. Good feel on the road, and pretty aggressive.

I am going to get a set of MT ATZs for 33 12.5 R17(305/65/R17)E rated. I pay 850 out the door. mounted, balanced, and tax but that is from a local guy. If you don't want the Mud tires have you considered a wider all terain? You can get stock rims to work with tires all the way to 37 x13.5R17 tires!
