Winter Tires - Load Ratings
Looking for some advice. I've got a 98 2500 and I'm in the market for some winter tires. I've had the Bridgstone Winterforce tires in the past and thought they were a great value, but the local tire shop wants to sell me a 10 ply tire at 2x the cost. The winterforce has a load rating of 109 or 2271 lbs per tire. I don't do much in the way of towing any kind of a load or putting a lot of weight in the bed (I might throw 200lbs in the bed to help keep the back end in place) and I wonder if this would be okay or if I in fact need to step it up to a 116/119 rated tire. Any help? A lot of guys around here have the Cooper Discoverer M&S which is a 119 rating I think, but they are $140 each....ouch!
