i got 22.5 wheels

hey.. i run big truck wheels almost all year long.i take them off in the winter cause i dont want to ruin the wheels.. and the tires i think wont be the greatest in snow.i have an automatic, i feel very little power lose.the truck still moves foward in drive at idle.i also have 32 foot 73 ton trailer i use for two cars or scrape from work.the truck tows get with a full trailer.the stock brakes work fine too.the only issue i have come across little more brake pad wearing. and stay away from cheap no name china tires...there junk..by name brand!

you actually get better mileage on the freeway. Plus they NEVER wear out. PM me for pics of mine. I have to sell em so if you want em make me an offer. I would take a couple thousand less than new! They're in good shape. Front tires have less than a thousand miles as a matter of fact.

My personal truck is setup like yours. Yes, the 22.5s are somewhat heavy. It's all in rotational mass. Now, if you are pulling some bad heavy equipment, then the 22.5s will still work ok. You will definitly be pulling out in 1st gear or what I call "Grandmaw gear" more often. Even unloaded on a hill, 1st gear is a must or you will toast the clutch. Its the rotational mass that is so heavy. The clutch holding up all depends on your style of driving. Just make sure you set your trailer brakes to brake more when pulling heavy loads. Trust me, with the 22.5s, you will lose some power. Every truck differs, so this varys to how much and its hard to say as far as yours. You will have to down gear more often and always keep in mind the truck will be harder to stop especially if its sudden stops. For my driving habit, my MPG stayed the same as it did with the stock setup. I gain on the highway, but lose in stop and go traffic. I drive both, so I didn't lose or gain any MPG. This varys for different people. If you tow often, more than likely you will lose MPG. All in all, its a good setup. You give a little to gain a little. Hope I helped some. ERIC.
