tall lift tall tires and towing?

who does it? any thoughts?
Obv its not the most desireable setup if you are doing a lot of towing.
I'm still up in the air about a 6" LA and 37s OR a 2-4" on 35s. Ive been doing a tone of research, I know which lift and tires I would get and it all boils down to which direction to go in.

What i Tow:
-a Flatbed car hauler with a pretty lightwieght tube buggy(sometimes larger heavier vehicles) at least once a month I tow this, approx 100 miles
20' enclosed car hauler (occasionally gets moved but mostly not far or often.

ALL this While carrying an 8' truck bed camper loaded with a weekends worth of tools food and spare parts.
no 5th wheel trailers either
thanks for the input!

Tall trucks raise the front of the trailer and throw the weight to the back. This combined with tall "D" rated tires can give you a dangerous amount of sway. Not to add you won't have much braking power on the truck with tall tires so better make sure the trailer has strong brakes.

Lift it as big as you want just re gear and get a nice drop hitch or custom make one. I know of a few guys with 14,000# fifth wheels on 40" tires, with powerjokes. No problem, just set it up right.

haha i like the way you put that, "i don't set the world on fire"

I'm more or less worried about the trans being overworked and going on me. I believe my truck has 4:10s now, I still haven't had the time to jack it up and find out. so i "think" the gearing will be ok? maybe not.
either way i agree that 35s will look small it is a longbed 4 door. thanks for the input guys.

Re gearing will keep the tranny from working hard. The new gears probaly 4:56:1 will give the tranny mechanical advantage to over come the weight and "de gearing effect" of the tall tires. If you do go 35's stay with your 4:10's

Since you said you would be hauling a slide in camper, I would tend to go with a little less lift than 6''. Of course this would be my personal preference and I have seen plenty of lifted rigs with campers, it just doesn't look like much fun having to fight all that sway around the corners, especialy while pulling a trailer! Air bags are a must either way, but you probably already knew that.
