Dual-single rims

Ok, so Ive given up on super singles, there is no way i can afford them. but i want my dually to have single rears, but i also dont want to do a complete axle/ hub conversion. I got the idea of running front "dually" rims to keep the wheels in the correct width for the truck, and just run a single rim in the back. im not worried about the width of the back w/ in the dually flare, because im going to put a custom flatbed on.

does anyone know if this would work, and if not, why? or atleast any advice on how to do this right. I am looking into the xd775 wheel b/c they have a dually line and single line so the front and back would match, but i dont think the front are made in 18 (only 16& 17) and the singles are the smallest @ 18. does anyone know if there are other sizes available and i just cant find them, or have another wheel series that has a matching front dual and single wheel. Thanks for any help.

I saw a truck the other day that did what you want to do. I really didn't like the look and it looked kinda unstable IMO

how so? was it too narrow in the back?, b/c would a regular single rear be centered where the dually split is? and did he have a regular dually body on it? Im not trying to stand up for my idea, i just want to get more opinions and details. Thanks

Is there a special reason to why you don't want to keep running the dual wheels? It's going to be hard to get the right look without converting it to a single rear wheel setup. Just for kicks, the 22.5 Super Singles wouldn't have worked either. The smallest tire available for them is 42" tall. They would work if they were shaved to a 22" wheel in which you could get a smaller tire, but we are talking big bucks. I know what you are wanting, but I don't know of any wheel manufactures making the correct sizes.

honestly i rushed into buying this truck, i wanted a srw manuel, qclb, couldnt find one so i got a auto qc dually....i want to put more aggressive tires/ rims on but dont wanna buy 6. and its $2.50 to cross the local bridge vs $1.00 for srw, and i cross it every day.

btw why would it be hard for it to look right if i have a custom flat bed that extends proportionally past the wheels as a flat bed would for dually or single wheel, arent the srw flatbeds narrower? so i could just make one thats in between srw width and dually width

thanks again for all input/ advice
