20 inch wheel offset...

I am thinking of going with a 20 inch wheel for my new truck... what off-set do I need.?.?.?... I do not want it to stick out too much.... but I also do not want to rub either..... I have seen +25...-25....-12..... Any ideas?.?.?.?. Pics would be greatly appreciated...

There are a lot of variables when asking this question. First question is, are you on stock suspension and what generation dodge do you own? Second is wheel width that the 20's are available in (9 fits comfortably). The third and most important thing is what size tires you will be running. Stock 3rd gen wheels are 17 X 8 w/ a 6.25 (approximately) backspacing and I beleive +42 offset. Please someone correct me on these numbers if I'm wrong. A 20X 9 will work with up to a 35" tire on a leveling kit only if you keep the backspacing under 5.5" which is around +6 offset. If you tell us details about your truck and suspension along with your preferred tire size we can guide you a little better.

You will be safe with -12 offset. You will get more rubbing depending on lift with -25 offset. I have -51mm offset cause I like em wide.

The more positive offset you go the further inward the wheel goes. I personally think -25 is too much for my taste, but that me.

Sorry guys... 2001 QCSB with 4 inch lift springs (instead of spacers... not sure about all that... but that is what the guy says and it is level).. I am actually going to pick it up Friday I am getting it for the right price so I will have some play money right off the bat... and it needs new tires......

I want 35X12.50R20 Tires... Federal's.... with a 20 x 9....

So a +42 (like stokers) would be inset... -12 would be a little more out.?.?.?. then a -25 would be a little more out.?.?.?. and -51 is just get-r-done out right.?.?.?.

MrNiceGuy has the federal tires I plan to run....

His wheels a cool... just a little too out from the fender weal(not sure if I spelled that right).....

With that much of a lift and 35's any of the wheel/ tire combos you mentioned will work. It's more a matter of personal taste as far as how much you want them to stick out. A 4.5" backspaced wheel will leave approx. 3" of tire exposed. My personal taste is in the 5-5.5" backspace unless your jacked 8"+. JMO.
