Oh look a Purple Powerstroke Pounder.

Well I've been pricing 19.5s and Michelin tires and I'm seeing $4500-5000. That's big bucks but for full-time RVers this will save money and aggravation.

19.5

I went with Weld wheels and Bridgestone tires in the 225/ 70's. They are a traction tire that chase rutts bad so think even though I have 4wd I'll have to try a more suttle steering tread. The truck does ride better in most situations except on washboard where it about chips your teeth. Looks good and will probably never wear them out with the F load range and it will pack a camper with no tire flex. Puts alot less stress on bearings than the heavy weight 22.5 kits.

I got the Sumitomo 918 tires. They ride smooth as silk. I think I paid $3,300 mounted balanced and shipped.

Why did you go with the 225's? I wanted the better ride, that's why I went with the 245's.

Did you buy the wheels and tires from the same place? Who was it?

mega_brady, do you have any pictures of the rears? with 225's mounted I had about 1-1/2" - 1-3/4" of clearance between the wheels, so I figure with 245's I should have about 1" between them? is that about right? have you had a load on it? do they bulge towards each other much?

I would guess there is at least 1" between the 245's.

It's loaded pretty good almost all of the time (25k GVWR) and they don't touch- not even close.
