Machining H2 wheels

Hey guys, I'm going to look at a set of H2 takeoffs. Somewhere I think I saw a posting on machining the centers out using a hand held router with a piloted carbide woodworking bit. I've searched and not found the post. has anyone heard of this approach in opening up the center? Taking them to a machine shop to have them milled will kill the deal pricewise.

Thanks, That's the link I was looking for.
Unfortunatally, I passed on the set of rims being sold because the cost of a machine shop made it too expensive.
Will have to keep an eye out for another set...

I only paid $80 to have all 4 machined.

i used a router it was very easy, but i am still working on the center caps

I've heard you can use your old Dodge caps if you just put double nuts on the studs, give it a try...

i put, well tried to put, a set on my 03 today. the centers were bored to 4.75" at a machine shop. they came off an 06, they fit. but they didn't fit on the front of my truck. the center needs to be machined out more. have no idea why. there is no rust buildup around the hub or anything, the stock rim fits right on, slips on great. just something to check for.....before spending $80 and having them not work. although, 99% of them work at 4.75", i'm the 1%.

ugh....I hope I don't run into that. I just got tires mounted on mine....was going to try them on next weekend.
