Largest spare Tire Possible
Looking at installing new tires BFG LT 285/70R 17 AT KO's, OE is LT 265/70R 17. Currently running 315's and getting tired of the spare in the bed. I was wondering if anyone knows if the 285 or the largest tire that will fit under the bed in the spare mount? I know 315 doesn't fit, 34.5" dia, 285 32.76" dia and OE 265 31.8" dia.

I'm running a Toyo 35x12.50 (measures 35" on the nose) in the stock spot with a Mag-Hytec cover. I have a long bed. I had to fab a trick little bracket that works with the stock pulley system. It fits perfect. Cycled the suspension all the way down and it clears by a 1/4".

I have the MBRP cool duals on mine, and I can fit a 35 underneath in the stock location. It takes alot of work and muscling to get it in there, but it fits. There is about 1/4 inch between the passenger side exhaust exit, and a few inches on the driver side. 1/4 inch is really too close for comfort, but there is enough airflow underneath, and without the DPF there anymore, it doesn't get hot enough to start a fire, so I am good. You could wrap the exhaust that is going to touch the tire in header tape to avoid melting the tire.
