Best highway tire

Im going to need some new shoes on the truck in about 6 months and will be looking for a tire that wears well. Im keeping the factory 17" wheels and would like to go with a slightly larger diameter to bring the highway rpms down a little. Truck only see's a dirt road occasionally and towing under 8klbs.
my father has 70-75kmi on firestone at's and ive seen michelin ltx ms go about that many miles too. What do you recommend?

For a long lasting highway tire try the Bridgestone Duravis

I run General Ameritrac TR's. The front ones have 107,000 mi. on them & are just getting down to the wear bars now.

The rear ones (4) have about 60,000 mi. on them, but I was experimenting with rear tire pressures & wore out the centers of them too quickly.

These tires come with 18/32" thread depth & being a hard compound, they wear like iron (scary on ice though ).

BTW: The door sticker on my 03' Dually is COMPLETELY BACKWARDS as far as the Front/Rear Tire Pressures go.

What I run is: FRONT 65psi & Rear 40psi!

Engine weighs about 1100lbs & 65psi gives an even thread footprint on the front tires.

Any more than 40psi in the rear wears the centers of the tires with no load in the box. 40psi still allows me the haul 9000lb. RV's with no handling issues at all.

You 3rd generation guys should check your door stickers & see what they say. Now, this applies to General Ameritrac TR's... different makes may be different.

Toyo H/T. I dont run them but my dad does. He has an 02 F350 dually and tows a large 5er. I just replaced the first set I sold him a week or 3 ago and we looked at his paprework from the first set and he an honest 71k and some change, with no rotates and he is horrible about bumping up air pressure to tow and lowering it back down when he does remember. Also very good even on a 2weenie in the snow and ice we had here this winter.

I got my 285/75/r16 duragrapplers a month ago and they are awesome tires. Much quieter than the firestones that came with my truck and a lot smoother...
